Agios Konstantinos, which is on the main Athens–Thessaloniki route, is one of the three mainland ports (along with Volos and Thessaloniki) that serve the islands of Skiathos, Skopelos and Alonnisos, which make up the northern Sporades.

The mountains dominate the northern, the southern the western and the eastern parts of the community. It consists of rocks and grasslands, forests lies in parts of the area and in the central part and the valley areas are farmlands. Unlike most of the Athens Metropolitan Area, agriculture has remained important in Agios Konstantinos, and housing development has been slow. Some luxury homes and properties cover the eastern and the central parts. In the 1980s the 2-lane expansion was constructed west of Agios Konstantinos.
